Hockey Bengal will organise its Annual Awards Ceremony 2026 in Kolkata today to mark National Sports Day and the 121st birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The ceremony will honour players, coaches, umpires, journalists and organisations for their contribution to the development of hockey in Bengal. National Sports Day is observed on August 29 in memory of Major Dhyan Chand, a three-time Olympic gold medallist and one of India’s greatest hockey players.
