Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have extended greetings to the people on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
In a social media post, Mr Shah said that yoga leads to a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a life filled with patience. He described yoga not merely as a form of exercise but as a path to achieving balance in life and fostering positivity.
The Home Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has gained global recognition and is increasingly being adopted worldwide as a way of life. Mr Shah also urged citizens to make yoga a part of their daily routine and take a pledge to move towards a healthy, empowered, and balanced life.
Meanwhile, the Defence Minister, in his message, described yoga as a symbol of the power of India’s ancient tradition of knowledge, which is paving the way for the welfare of all humanity. He said that yoga is not merely the foundation of a healthy body but also a path to living a balanced and disciplined life.
Mr Singh highlighted that India’s cultural heritage of yoga has today become a global people’s movement through the continuous efforts and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Defence Minister called upon people to resolve on this Yoga Day to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives for building a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a strong nation.
