HM Amit Shah says eradicating illegal immigration vital to protect nation’s demography

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said securing our borders and eradicating illegal immigration is vital to protecting the nation’s demography. He was addressing the troops and public gathering after inaugurating the strategically crucial G-7 and G-13 Border Out Posts along the India-Pakistan border in Bhuj, Gujarat, today. The Minister said the central government is leveraging cutting-edge technology, including drones, radars, and modern fencing, to establish an unbreachable, leak-proof security grid. The Home Minister announced a major structural shift in border management with the introduction of a new ‘Quadripartite Security Grid’. Moving beyond traditional border security, this model introduces the concept of complete ‘Territorial Security’ by actively integrating citizens, civil administration, the local police, and the military alongside the BSF, he added.

Mr. Shah lauded the Border Security Force for flawlessly serving as the nation’s ‘First Line of Defence’ for six decades. He paid rich tributes to over two thousand personnel who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. Mr Shah highlighted that previously sensitive zones like Sir Creek and Harami Nala have now been fortified with watchtowers and proper connecting roads, assuring that the entire region will become completely secure from any external threat within the next two years.
Referring to international borders, the Minister added that with the formation of the new government in West Bengal, the long-standing deadlock has ended, and the state government has provided land for border fencing within a single week. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and top security officials were also present on the occasion.
