Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Government of India, Assam, and Nagaland will end a decades-long dispute in the Northeast.
In a social media post, Mr Shah noted that the agreement will open the way for oil and gas exploration in the region. He added that the MoU stands out as an exemplar of India’s unity, where both states have given up disputes to realise the vision of an energy-independent India.
