Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today launched the month-long ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25 years of public service from his hometown of Vadnagar in Gujarat. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Minister Anupriya Patel were also present on the occasion. Mr. Shah, along with other dignitaries, flagged off a Vadnagar-to-Varanasi bike rally to spread the message of public service as part of the celebrations.

 

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shah stated that PM Modi’s public life is best described by the principle of “Nation First”. He emphasised that launching the Seva Yatra on this day serves to inspire children and youth. The minister noted that to achieve the vision of a Developed India by 2047, the nation needs more dedicated leaders guided by this selflessness.

 

Highlighting the Prime Minister’s unprecedented record, the Home Minister pointed out that over 25 years of continuous public mandate as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, not a single allegation of corruption or malpractice has been levelled against him.

 

Mr Shah outlined the unprecedented transformation under PM Modi’s leadership, which propelled India from one of the “Fragile Five” into the world’s fastest-growing economy. He also highlighted massive developments in infrastructure across ports, roads, airports, and digital networks, positioning India as a global manufacturing hub.

 

Our correspondent reports that a series of welfare programmes were held at PM’s birthplace, Vadnagar, today on the occasion of his birthday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other dignitaries, participated in a grand Maha Aarti at the historic Sharmishtha Lake. The dignitaries also led a foot march from the lake to the Hatkeshwar Temple and offered prayers.   Home Minister Amit Shah also participated in a cleanliness drive at Vadnagar railway station.
