Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have paid tribute to revolutionary and freedom fighter Batukeshwar Dutt on his death anniversary today. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that Batukeshwar Dutt ignited the flame of freedom across the entire country against the injustices of the British.

 

The Minister noted that the freedom fighter remained steadfast in his resolve for independence, even while enduring the brutal hardships of the Cellular Jail and and raised voice against British oppression while fighting for the rights of prisoners. He said, his courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will forever remain an inspiration for the youth.

 

Defence Minister described Batukeshwar Dutt as a devout nationalist and courageous personality who fought against the injustice and colonial rule. The Minister said that inspired by the freedom fighter’s ideals, the government will keep working for the development and prosperity of this great nation.
