HM Amit Shah congratulates anti-narcotics team for smashing international narco-cartel

Home Minister Amit Shah has congratulated the anti-narcotics team comprising central agencies and police forces of Assam, Mizoram and Manipur for launching a barrage of simultaneous crackdowns across 38 locations and smashing an international narco-cartel. He said the Modi government dealt another lethal blow against drugs with Operation Trident.

In a social media post, Mr Shah informed that the operation led to the arrest of 18 people, revealing 100 crore rupees worth of hawala transactions. He said 1,424 bank accounts have been frozen, properties worth around 18 crore rupees have been attached, and 500 detonators and 12 lakh rupees in cash were seized.

The Home Minister said the network trafficked narcotics across the borders of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh through the Death Triangle Corridor. He said the offensive attests to India’s Himalayan resolve to realise the mission of eradicating every drug network by 31st December 2029. Mr Shah reiterated that India will hammer until the last nail is driven into the coffin of drug cartels.
