Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the government is fully committed to ensuring the highest level of security and a smooth pilgrimage experience for devotees undertaking the Amarnath Yatra. Mr Shah said this while chairing a high level meeting in New Delhi to review the preparedness of the Shri Amarnath Yatra. During the meeting, he directed for creating impregnable multi-layered security grid along the pilgrimage route with the coordinated efforts of the Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and all security agencies. The Amarnath Yatra will begin on 3rd July and conclude on 28th of August.
During the meeting, Union Home Minister emphasized to further strengthen the security framework with the extensive use of modern technologies such as drones, CCTV surveillance and advanced monitoring systems. Mr Shah added that the senior officers of CAPFs and the Jammu and Kashmir Police will continuously monitor arrangements at camp sites throughout the pilgrimage route. He also emphasized for ensuring adequate arrangements for all essential services, including pilgrim registration, accommodation, healthcare facilities, and disaster management. Union Home Minister also directed to strictly 7 7 regulate the movement of pilgrim batches in accordance with prevailing weather conditions and forecasts. It was also directed that all local persons and animals associated with the Yatra should be duly registered, and QR code-enabled identity cards should be issued to them.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Directors General of the Central Armed Police Forces , and senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indian Army, and the Union Territory Administration of J&K. /
