Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Gandhinagar, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The Minister reviewed the implementation of various Central flagship schemes.

 

To financially empower farmers, Mr Shah suggested a swift survey to ensure that every landholder is provided with at least two livestock animals. He also directed the preparation of a contingency plan to tackle the delayed monsoon and instructed officials to set up new cluster schools for every three to four villages to reduce the school dropout rate among girls.

 

The Home Minister further directed the administration to distribute Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY cards on a war footing to all senior citizens aged 70 and above, and mandated a survey to ensure that remaining uncovered villages are provided with gas connections, toilets, electricity and clean drinking water.

 

Tomorrow, Home Minister will launch the ‘PM Family Care Tracker’ pilot project in Gandhinagar to enhance welfare tracking and healthcare delivery. Ahead of the launch, he is scheduled to attend a brainstorming session with booth presidents and Shakti Kendra in-charges of the Sabarmati Assembly constituency in Chandlodiya, Ahmedabad.
