HM Amit Shah calls upon youth to actively participate in national reconstruction by 2047

 
Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy remains timeless, relevant, and dedicated to human welfare. Addressing students during the 72nd Convocation Ceremony of Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad today, Mr. Shah called upon the youth to actively participate in national reconstruction by 2047.
 
Highlighting the institution’s historical significance, the Union Minister said that Gujarat Vidyapith stands as a premier model of the Indian Knowledge System. Underscoring the core values of the National Education Policy, Mr. Shah said that NEP prioritizes education in the mother tongue, multidisciplinary learning, and skill-based development as envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to rural economic empowerment, the Minister cited the growth of Khadi sales, which rose dramatically from 31 thousand crore rupees in 2014 to over 1 lakh 87 thousand crore rupees today.
 
At the convocation, degrees were conferred upon 900 graduating students, while 11 outstanding students were awarded gold medals. Gujarat Governor and Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith Acharya Devvrat, along with faculty members and dignitaries, attended the ceremony. Mr. Shah, who is on a visit to Gujarat, earlier chaired a high-level meeting at the Circuit House in Ahmedabad regarding India’s preparedness for the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
