A delegation led by New Zealand High Commissioner Patrick Rata met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant contribution of apple production to Himachal’s economy.

He stated that the state government is promoting modern technology and innovation to strengthen the horticulture sector. He emphasized the need for exposure visits for farmers and orchardists from both Himachal and New Zealand to boost apple cultivation in the state. He also held detailed discussions on various aspects of natural farming. The delegation informed the Chief Minister that New Zealand is keen to provide technical expertise to support apple horticulture in Himachal Pradesh. They also provided detailed information regarding the proposed establishment of a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in the state by New Zealand.
