The Regional Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains for Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, and six other districts for another week.

Light to moderate widespread rains are likely to occur during this period. An alert has been issued for coastal areas in Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur for another 24 hours. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the seas till the 21st of this month due to the prevalence of squally winds.
