Continuous rainfall over the past few days has affected normal life across Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in several districts today.

Due to continuous rainfall over the past four days in the catchment areas of neighbouring Nepal and various districts of the state, water levels in several rivers, including the Kosi, Gandak and Bagmati, are rising. In Supaul, 40 gates of the Veerpur Kosi Barrage have been opened as a precautionary measure in view of the rising water level of the Kosi River. Meanwhile, in West Champaran, the rising water level of the Gandak River has increased the risk of flooding in low-lying areas.

Continuous rainfall in Patna and several other places over the past four days has also affected normal life. Waterlogging has been reported at several locations. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in East Champaran, West Champaran and Gopalganj districts today. Rain accompanied by strong winds is also forecast in other parts of the state.
