Health Minister JP Nadda reviews TB elimination efforts under PM-PRAGATI

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda today reviewed the progress of TB elimination efforts under PM-PRAGATI, the ICT-enabled, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, with Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth. The meeting focused on strengthening inter-ministerial convergence for the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. Ministry of Health in a social media post said that the review emphasised measurable outcomes and tangible grassroots impact through early detection, prevention, community awareness, screening and sustained community mobilisaion. It added that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through MY Bharat volunteers, and the Ministry of Defence through NCC cadets, are strengthening field-level outreach and awareness. Besides, educational institutions and workplaces are also being brought into the national effort, with ESIC strengthening TB screening and support for workers. The Ministry said that this whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach will further accelerate India’s collective efforts towards a TB Mukt Bharat, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
