Health Minister JP Nadda reaffirms commitment to accessible & affordable mental healthcare on World Mental Health Day

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has reaffirmed commitment to accessible, affordable and people-centred mental healthcare on World Mental Health Day today. In a social media post, the Minister said that mental health support is reaching more people with and over 48 lakh calls received and 53 Tele-MANAS Cells operating across 36 States and Union Territories.

Mr Nadda said that MANN Jaagriti is strengthening community awareness, encouraging early help-seeking and working to break the stigma around mental health. He called on citizens to build a more compassionate and supportive society where everyone can seek help with dignity, without fear or discrimination. He further said, mental health matters and every voice deserves to be heard. The theme this year is Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.
