Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J. P. Nadda has said that the Ayushman Bharat scheme has transformed the country’s healthcare landscape. Addressing the inaugural event of Aarogya Manthan 2026 in New Delhi today, Mr Nadda said that the treatment of 90 per cent of cancer cases starts within thirty days due to Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

 

The Minister highlighted that around 13 crore patients have been treated under Ayushman Bharat so far and nearly two lakh crore rupees have been disbursed by the National Health Authority.       

 

The Minister said Ayushman Bharat is now being implemented in all 36 States and Union Territories, benefiting a large number of migrant workers. Mr. Nadda said the government will continue to strengthen digital healthcare and use technology to provide more patient-centric services to citizens.

 

The Aarogya Manthan 2026 marks eight years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and five years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. During the event, the Union Health Minister presented awards to best-performing States and Union Territories under both schemes.

 

Mr Nadda also launched the National Healthcare Providers Registry Mobile App and Secure Data Environment application to further strengthen India’s digital health and health assurance ecosystem.
