Haryana to implement ‘No Pollution Under Control Certificate, No Fuel’ policy in NCR from October 1

The Haryana government will implement the ‘No Pollution Under Control Certificate, No Fuel’ policy in the National Capital Region from October 1 to curb air pollution. The decision was reviewed by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi at a high-level meeting held under the Commission for Air Quality Management.
 
Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, Rajasekhar Wundru said 925 electric buses will be introduced in Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal and Rohtak during 2026. Seventy buses are already in operation, while orders have been placed for 385 more.
 
He said 23 new continuous ambient air quality monitoring centres will be operational before September 30, taking the total to 45. Automatic Number Plate Identification systems are also being installed at all 2,780 petrol pumps in NCR districts to verify Pollution Under Control certificates before refuelling. The state has also seized 2,883 overage vehicles, scrapped 2,010 and issued over 6,000 No Objection Certificates for voluntary removal.
