Voting is underway smoothly for the by-election in the Umreth Assembly constituency in Gujarat today. Till 1:00 PM, about 37.23 per cent of the voting has been recorded.

 

A total of 6 candidates are in the fray, but the main fight is between Harshad Parmar from the BJP and Bhrigurajsinh Chauhan from the Congress. There are 306 polling booths set up across the area, and over 1,500 staff members have been deployed to ensure smooth voting.

 

The by-election was necessitated due to the death of MLA Govind Parmar.
