The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Surat, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli for tomorrow. While an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Narmada and Tapi. A yellow alert for rainfall has been issued for Rajkot, Botad, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Vadodara and Chhota Udepur, said Dr. A. K. Das, Regional Director of the Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next five days due to the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning. Rain fell in 85 talukas in Gujarat by 6 pm today.
