The Gujarat Government today announced a rehabilitation financial package to revive flood-affected business, commercial, and service units in Surat city and district.
Briefing the media in Gandhinagar, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that lump-sum cash assistance will be given to handcart and pushcart owners, small cabin owners, and large cabin owners. He added that handcart owners will receive 7,500 rupees, while small permanent cabins up to 40 sq. ft. and larger cabins will get 25,000 rupees and 50,000 rupees, respectively. Permanent shops that have filed their latest quarterly GST returns will be eligible for a lump-sum cash relief of 1 lakh rupees.
The government has also decided to waive taxes for one year for the affected residential and commercial areas of Surat city.
