In Gujarat, five workers were killed and five others injured following a powerful reactor explosion and subsequent toxic gas leak at a chemical manufacturing factory in Bharuch district. The incident occurred late last night at the SynZeal Pharmachem unit located in the Saykha GIDC area of Vagra taluka during a hydrogenation process. The blast also caused a leak of Methylene Dichloride (MDC) gas. The company has been given a closure notice by the authorities. Along with this, a case of accidental death has been registered at the Vagra police station in Bharuch.

The injured workers were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Following the accident, officials from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), the Industrial Safety and Health Department, and local police rushed to the spot to evaluate the situation. A joint investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
