Gujarat: Dholera International Airport to be operational within three months: Union Civil Aviation Minister

 
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu announced that Dholera International Airport, in Gujarat, will be operational within three months. Talking to the media after reviewing the progress of the project , the minister said 80% project work  is completed, and the government aims to complete the remaining terminal construction and secure the necessary licensing within the next three months to commence flight operations. 
 
Mr. Naidu emphasized that Dholera is a unique venture for the entire country, integrating an international airport with a manufacturing hub, a futuristic green city, and a semiconductor hub with multi-modal connectivity.
Briefing about the structural milestones, the Minister informed that 100 percent of the runway, taxiway, and Air Traffic Control ancillary buildings are complete, while the passenger terminal has achieved 75 percent completion. He also announced that specialized hangers have been planned at the airport for the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul of the C-295 defence aircraft, the first ‘Made in India’ military transport aircraft built under the Airbus-Vadodara partnership.
