The government has said that 369 elite sportspersons are being supported under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) as part of the preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya informed this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

He said that 125 crore rupees has been allocated under this scheme over the last five financial years. The Minister said that under the TOPS scheme, financial assistance is provided to identified athletes for customized training and competition requirements, including coaching, international exposure, sports science and medicine support, equipment and other athlete-specific requirements.
