The government has refuted a video being shared online that claims Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted a portrait of himself to Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has termed the claim fake. PIB clarified that the porcelain memento featuring Prime Minister Modi’s image was, in fact, gifted by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Prime Minister Modi during their meeting in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, on October 12, 2019.
