Government has invited applications from eligible entities under the Scheme for Strengthening of Medical Device Industry to promote domestic manufacturing, reduce import dependence, support innovation and increase the depth of value chains in the medical devices sector.
The Department of Pharmaceuticals has informed that applications are invited under the two sub-schemes which are Marginal Investment Scheme for Reducing Import Dependence and Medical Device Clinical Studies Support Scheme (MDCSS).
It added that the selected applicants would be incentivised through a one-time capital subsidy of up to 10 crore rupees on reimbursement basis for manufacturing key components, raw material and finished accessories to reduce import dependence under Marginal Investment Scheme.
The department will also provide financial support of up to 5 crore rupees under MDCSS Scheme for conducting clinical investigation, clinical performance evaluation, post-market follow-up studies and animal studies to the eligible applicants on reimbursement basis. It said that the proposals under the scheme have to be submitted through the department’s online portal on or before 23rd of next month.
