31-member JPC constituted to examine FCRA amendment bill

 
The government today constituted a 31-member joint committee of Parliament on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill 2026. Lok Sabha MP Sanjay Jaiswal will head the joint panel to examine the FCRA amendment bill. Prominent names from Lok Sabha in the committee include Bhartruhari Mahtab, Tejaswi Surya, Nishikant Dubey, A. Raja and Supriya Sule. From Rajya Sabha, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Praful Patel and Menaka Guruswamy have been included in the committee.
 
Both Houses of Parliament on 12th August gave nod for referring the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill 2026 to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for further scrutiny. The bill aims to further amend the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. The objective of the Bill is to make the use of foreign contributions more transparent and accountable.
