The government has refuted a fake video of Lieutenant General Rajeev Puri circulating on social media. The AI-generated deepfake video falsely claims that, at the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lt Gen Puri ordered the deployment of additional forces in the National Capital amid the protests over the NEET paper leak issue. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has termed the claim as fake and AI-generated. The unit has urged citizens to beware of manipulated content and rely only on official sources for verified information.
