Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu today said that GIFT City is emerging as a global aircraft leasing and financing hub through regulatory incentives. In a social media post, Mr Naidu said that tax holiday for IFSC units has been increased to 20 years in 2026 budget. He said that now Indian airlines leasing aircraft from GIFT IFSC-based entities need not deduct any TDS on the lease rent paid during the increased tax holiday. Mr. Naidu expressed confidence that It will reduce compliance burden for the airlines and lower the overall cost of leasing through GIFT IFSC, adding to India’s competitiveness as a leasing jurisdiction.
