Germany’s decision to waive the transit visa requirement for Indian nationals passing through Germany exclusively by air comes into effect today. India has welcomed the development.
The External Affairs Ministry said in a social media post that the new arrangement would further enhance people-to-people ties between India and Germany. It said the announcement was made in January this year after discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz during his visit to India.
