FPIs Invest ₹16,621 Crore in Indian Equities So Far in August

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have remained net buyers of Indian equities during the first two week of August. According to the latest depository data, FPIs have invested 16,621 crore rupees in the domestic stock market so far this month.

 

Of the total investment, 11,199 crore rupees came through purchases on the stock exchanges, while 5 thousand 422 crore rupees was invested through the primary market. The buying momentum, which gathered pace in July, has continued into August, supported by resilient domestic fundamentals and strong quarterly earnings.

 

Meanwhile, buying interest was also seen in the debt market. So far in August, Foreign Portfolio Investors have invested 69 crore rupees in debt securities through the General Limit route. Through the Fully Accessible Route, FPIs have invested 972 crore rupees during the period under review.
