The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has transferred four indigenous technologies to industry and commercially launched an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled rural water service delivery, measurement and monitoring system.
The Ministry of Science and Technology said that the technologies were launched as part of the government’s efforts to promote the commercialisation of indigenous innovations.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of CSIR, Dr N Kalaiselvi said that the successful commercialisation of indigenous technologies is central to CSIR’s mission of translating research into products and processes that benefit both industry and society.
Dr Kalaiselvi also urged scientists across the CSIR network to pursue industry-oriented research aligned with national priorities.
