Four CRPF personnel were injured in an accident while defusing explosives in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh yesterday. Maoists had planted several improvised explosive devices, at various locations in the interior and remote areas of Bastar division in Chhattisgarh. Security forces are carrying out a continuous operation to defuse these explosives.
Yesterday, near Bodrajpadar nullah close to the Alarmadgu camp under Bhejji police station area of Sukma district, an ammunition technician team and CRPF personnel were engaged in the process of safely defusing the explosives.
During the operation, a fragment of an explosive fell nearby and exploded. Four security personnel were injured in the incident. The condition of one of them is reported to be serious. All the injured personnel have been referred to Hyderabad for further treatment.
