Former VP Venkaiah Naidu congratulates PM Modi, credits his leadership for key welfare initiatives

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming the longest continuously elected Prime Minister of independent India, Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the achievement is significant as it comes amid intense political competition, coalition dynamics and constant media scrutiny.

 

Writing an article in English Daily, Mr Naidu highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s journey from Vadnagar in Gujarat to the Prime Minister’s Office and completing 4 thousand 399 days in office, surpassing the record of Jawaharlal Nehru.

 

The Former Vice President also credited the leadership of Mr Modi for initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, housing for the poor, Jan Dhan accounts, Direct Benefit Transfers, UPI payments and Ayushman Bharat. He added that the abrogation of Article 370, abolition of triple talaq, GST reforms and 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies are notable milestones of the Prime Minister’s tenure.

 

The Former Vice President described Mr Modi as a leader committed to building a Swarnim Bharat and wished him success in his future endeavours.
