Former Trinamool Congress Minister Indranil Sen is facing a fresh corruption probe, this time over alleged irregularities in the award of a government tender. The West Bengal Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an investigation into large-scale financial irregularities in a government project during Sen’s tenure as Minister of Information and Cultural Affairs.
This comes after Sen was recently questioned by the Enforcement Directorate over alleged irregularities in the distribution and sale of Durga Puja “preview” passes, in a case involving a scam estimated at Rs. 50-60 crore.
The former minister is also accused of awarding tenders worth over 85 crore rupees to entities linked to his close associates.
