Former Punjab Minister and BJP leader Bhagat Chunni Lal has passed away after a prolonged illness in Jalandhar today. He was 94. His final rites will take place this evening.

 

Sh. Bhagat was a former Cabinet Minister in the erstwhile SAD-BJP government in 2012. He was elected as MLA from Jalandhar West thrice and also served as Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. His son, Mohinder Bhagat, is currently a minister in the AAP government.
