Former President Ram Nath Kovind has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming India’s longest continuously serving democratically elected Prime Minister marks a landmark moment in the country’s post-Independence history.
Writing an opinion article in a daily, the Former President said the period since 2014 has witnessed a decisive shift towards ‘Indian-ness’ in governance, politics and public discourse. He added that PM Modi has promoted pride in India’s civilisational heritage, highlighted the country’s democratic traditions and strengthened public confidence in national institutions.
Mr Kovind noted that Prime Minister Modi’s ability to sustain a strong bond of trust with the people and maintain high public approval reflects his success in meeting these expectations. He also credited the Prime Minister with encouraging pride in Indian languages, culture and identity.
