The Digital Forensics Laboratory at the National Forensic Sciences University, Goa Campus, has received Central Government recognition as an Examiner of Electronic Evidence under the Information Technology Act. The recognition strengthens Goa’s cyber forensic capabilities and will support law enforcement and the judiciary. NFSU Goa is only the second laboratory under the university and one of just 21 laboratories in the country to receive this recognition.
The notification follows a rigorous evaluation by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, certifying the laboratory’s advanced technical expertise, infrastructure and quality systems. The Dharbandora-based facility will assist law enforcement agencies, the judiciary and security organisations by examining digital evidence with legal validity. The recognition is expected to strengthen research, consultancy and cyber security initiatives while reinforcing NFSU Goa’s role as a centre of excellence in digital forensics and justice delivery.
