In Manipur, the 1st Bishnupur District Olympic Games, 2026, organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur and the Bishnupur District Olympic Association, was concluded today. The closing ceremony was held at Chengei Lampak, Moirang in Bishnupur district, and it was graced by Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam and MLAs.
The five-day Games featured 16 events, and around one thousand five hundred athletes participated.
The Governor, along with Chief Ministers and MLAs, distributed prizes and mementoes to the winners of the various sporting disciplines.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor of Manipur said that Manipur has a rich sporting legacy and acknowledged the achievements of distinguished athletes from Bishnupur whose accomplishments continue to inspire the younger generation.
