Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services, Secretary Sanjay Lohiya today chaired a review meeting on progress of Financial Inclusion Schemes with Public and Private Sector Banks in New Delhi. The Ministry of Finance said that a detailed review of the progress under various Financial Inclusion schemes was held during the meeting. These include the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, among others.
Mr. Lohia said that significant progress has been made in deepening financial inclusion in the country through various flagship schemes of the Government. He added that banks should make efforts to further enhance their digital outreach and focus on end-to-end digital processing of loans. During the meeting, discussion was held on the progress made by banks under Financial Inclusion. Mr Lohia urged the Private Sector Banks to increase their participation in financial inclusion schemes.
