Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that electronics manufacturing employs 25 lakh people in the country and mobile manufacturing alone employs 12 lakh people. Fact-checking and rejecting a News Report, Mr Vaishnaw, in a social media post, shared the statistics for the Mobile Production Linked Incentive PLI scheme. He said 19,000 crore rupees were paid as Government incentive, Direct tax collected is 25,000 crore rupees, and GST collected is 3 lakh crore rupees.
