The Election Commission has summoned the Chief Secretary and Director-General of Police of Andhra Pradesh to explain reasons for failure of administration to contain post poll violence. Sources said, the Commission summoned them to New Delhi tomorrow to personally explain the preemptive steps being taken to avoid any such incidents in future.

Taking cognizance of recent post poll violence in Andhra Pradesh, the Commission has directed Chief Secretary and DGP Andhra Pradesh to ensure that such violence should not happen at any cost. It said, the Commission has repeatedly emphasized that there is no scope of violence in democracy.
