In Madhya Pradesh, a major tree plantation drive was launched in Indore today as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav flagged off the campaign, which targets planting 21 lakh saplings across the state. It also plans to set up 51 thousand rainwater harvesting units. The goal is to turn environmental protection and water conservation into a people’s movement.
Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav were present at the event. Social organisations, NGOs, students and a large number of citizens took part in the plantation drive. The state government has urged people to join such campaigns and contribute to environmental protection and water conservation.
