Eight MLAs of United Democratic Party (UDP) from Meghalaya joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the party headquarters in New Delhi today. Prominent among them are Lahkmen Rymbui, Pius Marwein, Kyrmen Shylla and Mayralborn Syiem. They were inducted into the party in the presence of Union Minister and Senior BJP Leader Kiren Rijiju, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra and Anil Antony.
