In Tripura, Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Bakri Eid, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. A central tradition of this festival is the ritual sacrifice of an animal, symbolising devotion.
In accordance with Islamic customs, a significant portion of the sacrificial meat is distributed among the orphaned, needy, and underprivileged families to ensure everyone joins in the festivities.
On this auspicious occasion, special mass prayers are organised at various mosques and Eidgahs across the state. The main and largest congregation in the capital city takes place at the historic Gedu Mia Eidgah premises in Agartala, where hundreds of devotees gather to offer their prayers for peace and prosperity.
