Egypt: 22 people killed in road accident

 
In Egypt, 22 people were killed and 28 others injured today when a passenger bus crashed in the Sinai Peninsula. The casualties included both Egyptians and Jordanians. Egypt’s Health Ministry said in a statement that the accident took place on a road linking the tourist resorts of Dahab and Nuweiba in South Sinai province. Local media reported that the bus was travelling from Cairo to Amman in Jordan when it overturned on the road between Dahab and Nuweiba. The reports said 10 Jordanians were among those killed in the crash. Some media reports said the bus overturned after one of its tyres burst.
