Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi has called upon young innovators to identify real-life problems faced by common people and develop practical and affordable solutions through innovation.
Speaking at the launch of the Seva First Innovation Challenge – South Zone at IISc Bengaluru today, Mr. Joshi said the initiative brings together school students, ITI trainees, polytechnic students, colleges and universities to identify problems and develop innovative solutions that can improve people’s daily lives.
He said promising ideas emerging from the challenge would receive continued support through mentoring, incubation and pathways for wider adoption beyond the prototype stage. Mr Joshi also urged startups and industry partners to mentor young innovators and help transform their ideas into practical solutions, contributing to the goal of building a developed India by 2047.
“The Minister said that India’s young population has a major role to play in developing solutions for both the country and the world. He highlighted the growing innovation ecosystem, including tinkering labs, Innovation Councils, the Smart India Hackathon and the expansion of startups and patents. He stressed the need for innovation in renewable energy, green hydrogen and emerging technologies. Mr. Joshi later interacted with students, enquired about their ideas and innovations, and encouraged them to find practical solutions to real-life problems.
