Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will address the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan’ in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, at 5 PM today. The event is being held to mark 12 years of service, good governance and welfare of the poor under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The aim of the conference is to carry the resolve of making India a developed nation by 2047 to every citizen.
Earlier in the morning, Shri Pradhan visited the Shooting Academy along with state Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang and interacted with athletes. He said that through the National Education Policy, sports and physical education have been made a key part of the education system. He also announced that athletes’ academic records and sports achievements will be linked through their APAAR ID and that a sports quota has been introduced in prestigious institutions like the IITs for the first time.
Late Friday night, upon arriving at Bhopal airport, Shri Pradhan spoke to the media about NEET. He said the re-examination scheduled for June 21 will be conducted in a completely fair and transparent manner and urged students to stay away from rumours and focus on their preparation.
