Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted searches at the residence, farmhouse and office premises of former Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda. The raids were carried out in connection with an ongoing investigation by ED’s Gurugram unit in a large-scale real estate fraud by Vatika Limited.

ED said that the investors were induced to invest in commercial projects on assurances of timely possession, assured returns, lease rentals and execution of sale deeds. The four projects of the company under investigation involved collection of over 248 crore rupees from 661 investors without handing over possession or executing the promised sale deeds till date. The Searches were conducted under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
