The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted searches at seven premises in Kolkata, Delhi and Ranchi in connection with a case involving Akhbar-E-Mashriq Private Limited, an Urdu daily newspaper, and its Director and TMC MP Nadimul Haque. ED has recorded an Enforcement Case Information Report on the basis of an FIR registered by Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.

The investigation agency said that the case related to allegations concerning the publication and dissemination of material allegedly promoting communal disharmony. It said that the case also contains allegations regarding illegal transactions, unaccounted cash transactions and funding from suspicious sources.
