EC informs that seizures related to ongoing assembly elections and bye-elections have crossed 400 crore

The Election Commission has informed that seizures related to ongoing assembly elections and by-elections have crossed four hundred crore rupees, including cash, liquor, drugs, precious metals, and freebies. The Commission said that over 5100 flying squads and 5 thousand 200 Static Surveillance Teams have been deployed across poll-going States and UT to ensure free, fair, and intimidation-free elections. The ECI informed that from 15th to 25th March, over 70,900complaints have been lodged using the C-Vigil App in the assembly elections and the bye-elections in the States and UTs. The commission has also said that over 95% of complaints were resolved within 100 minutes. The ECI further noted that a complaint redressal system has been set up, including a Call Centre number 1950. The Commission added that complaints can be lodged by any member of the public or political party with the concerned District Election Officer or Returning Officer.
